Easter Weekend.
Diving cancelled due to strong winds and big tides.
April 3rd.
Lovely day, many seals in North Haven, we counted over sixty on the beach there. We also spotted about half a dozen Puffins!! They are back! Seems early for them this year, always nice to see them. Not many fish about at the moment, and vis is down to only a few meters.
April 26th / 27th
We do have some places left for the 26th / 27th weekend of April, so if you want to get wet and try out some of that new kit, we are offering places on that weekend for smaller groups. Cost would be £62.00 per person per day.
May 7th River Trip.
A tour of the upper reaches of the river, going up as far as Blackpool Mill. High spring tides provide us with the depth to explore these waters. A very interesting trip, with a lovely sunset at Llanshipping on the way back.
May 23rd / 24th / 25th / 26th Diving.
Boat full all over the bank holiday weekend. The first day we dived the Lucy and then the North Wall, with vis about 2 to 3 meters. Weather was good with winds light and from the east.
The second day we dived Limey Head, with the vis improving to around 6 meters, with lots of fish life to be found. Winds were increasing to force 5 from the NE.
The Haven was dived the nest day as winds increased to force 6, but vis was still good with hardly any movement of water as we have neaps this weekend. The next day force 8 winds were forecast, so we headed up river for two good dives, with some lovely sponges and large fish, which were either Bass or Mullet. The second was a drift dive, covering some distance at speeds of two kts. Vis was again good.
May 31st / June 1st Diving.
What a lovely weekend, just what Pembrokeshire is all about! Flat blue seas, sunshine with so many dive sites just waiting to be dived! Alan our skipper took us across to the Islands, we could have been anywhere in te world! What a lovely place Pembrokehsire is. The Lucy was dived with over 7 meters vis, fantastic, you could see all the wheel house if you stepped back. Seen octopus, large lobster and a conger on the dive.
The weather was that good, I even got my gear on and had a dive myself on Rye Rocks! The group we had were all down from Bolton, and were a fun lot, nice and relaxing, late start for Sunday (nice breakfast and late night on the booze)!!
June 14th / 15th Diving.
Winds light and slight seas we headed for the Smalls after diving the Lucy. Vis on the Lucy was 8 meters and with flat seas it was an easy dive to do. As soon as all divers were on board we headed out to the Small, it took around 90 mins to get there. Lunch was had on the way out.
We dived the west side of the lighthouse, where the wall drops to 20 meters, with the tide changing to the north flow the divers drifted to that side of the rocks where they met many playful seals!
Vis was 15 meters and the divers could be seen all the way to the bottom as they dropped in.
On the way back most enjoyed the sun and complementary cool beers were supplied to all!
June 21st / 22nd Diving.
Vis this weekend was not bad at around 5 meters on some of the wrecks in the Haven. We dived on the Saturday with a group down from London. The weather was not in our favor, as winds were blowing up to gale force 8 for the evening. The talls ships were coming nto Milford to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Port Authorities.
The diving was cancelled for the Sunday as the sea swell had reached over 4 meters at the heads!
The around Britain Powerboat race from Plymouth was cancelled due to the bad weather, and some were coming over by road, the rest will come over on Monday.
June 28th / 29th Diving.
A lovely two days diving, with the Lucy and Rye Rocks dived on the first day. Vis was around 4 metres and water temp 14 degrees. Plenty to see on the wreck.
The second day the winds blew a little and the swell picked up, so with the vis better in the Haven, we dived the Dakotion. The second dive was a reef which was the best dive of the weekend, as vis was around 7 metres. A very pretty reef too with lots of colour and fish life on it.
July 5th / 6th Diving
Some nice vis for the two days and lots of fish life on some of the reefs. Saturdays diving was called off with winds reaching force 8 at times.
July 19th / 20th Diving
Lovely weather for this weekend, with some good vis to be found on the North Wall and even on The Dakotion. Winds were up to force 6 at times, but with plenty of sunshine it was enjoyable. The Dead Eye wreck was lovely with plenty of life to be found around the wreck. Vis was five metres, and water temp reaching around 15 degrees.
July 26th / 27th Diving.
We dived with the seals this weekend and on both days all the divers had seals swimming with them. One pair had three seals with them for their complete dive. Others were playing hide and seek with them. A remarkable experience was had by everyone. The Lucy was also dived with vis around 4 metres.
August 9th / 10th Diving.
We dived this weekend on a few new dive sites. One was very interesting with a 15 metre wall that fell to over 20 metres, with some very interesting life on it. Plenty of Lobsters walking out in the open and some very large dog fish. There was also a shoal of Bass, must have been hundreds, pity we did not have time to fish there later!
August 16th / 17th Diving.
Diving this weekend, vis was poor due to strong winds but we did manage to get out and dive. Most places it would have been called off this is the beauty of diving in Pembrokeshire.
August 22nd / 23rd / 24th Diving.
At last a break in the weather for this weekend as we managed to get around to Skomer to dive the Lucy with 5 meters vis. Dived with seals for the next dive at the Dead Eye wreck but they were a little bit shy!
Winds increased for Saturday but managed to dive on Skomer at Junkos Rock and had a great dive. There were Cray fish, Scallops and even a crab that we could not identify in any of the books!
When we got back later Helen who took the photo found out it was a rare crab called a "Sponge Crab" Well done Helen! The picture shown here was taken by her.
